* Inflamatory Conditions

One of the most common skin conditions that dermatologists treat are inflammatory conditions. These can cause rashes, itching, redness, etc., that can be uncomfortable and even painful. They can be both chronic as well as acute. Some of the common inflammatory conditions are:

* Urticaria

Urticaria, commonly known as hives, is the appearance of red bumps on the skin that occur suddenly. They could also be in the form of larger plaques. Urticaria could occur as a result of an allergy or due to other factors. It causes a sensation of burning, itching, or stinging. Urticaria can occur anywhere on the body. They can last anywhere from a day to more than a week.

* Pigmentation

The color of your skin is the result of melanin. Any disorder in the cells that produce melanin can result in abnormal pigmentation, which leads to spots on the skin, an uneven skin tone, blotches, etc. Some forms of pigmentation are:

- Melasma: Facial pigmentation which is blotchy and symmetrical.
- Post-inflammatory pigmentation: Dark marks that remain after an injury or acne
- Toxic melanoderma: Caused due to chemical, physical, or mechanical irritation.

* Psoriasis

This is a chronic inflammatory skin disorder that commonly affects the scalp, elbows and knees. It can also affect the soles, palms and nails. Sometimes joints can be involved causing pain and swelling and difficulty in movement. Psoriasis is known to be associated with hypertension, diabetes, abnormal lipid profile and obesity thereby predisposing to coronary artery disease. Psoriasis can be well controlled with medications and lifestyle modifications.

* Diffuse Hair loss

Some of the common causes for diffuse hair loss are:

- Telogen effluvium-When you notice hair falling more than normal, leading to thinning of hair.
- Female Pattern Hair loss - Is one of the common causes of loss of hair in women. This can be due to aging, hormones, or genetic factors.

* Patchy hair loss
